National Outreach to Hispanics

Breath of Life wants to collaborate with local Christian organizations and churches with the primary focus of reaching, disciple, training, and mobilizing Hispanics to reach others to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). This unity will be like a country-wide fishing net to throw over the whole USA and fish out as many Hispanics as possible. However, this net needs to be strong to hold the catch.

How do we throw this net?

  1. We want to give a physical copy of Spanish Bibles to every Hispanic family across the nation who is interested in learning about Jesus and the gospel.

  2. We want to print on the back of each Bible a clear, compelling, and complete brief description of who is Jesus and what is Gospel.

  3. While giving out the Bible, we want to train and send local Christians two by two to share the Gospel, who is Jesus. As they go, we will train them also to find out and attend to the people’s physical, social, economic, and emotional needs (Matthew 10:5-15, 25:31-46) through national partners. The goal here is to mobilize the local church to holistically care for Hispanics. The team should focus on introducing Hispanics to Jesus and the Gospel and not on inviting them to church.

  4. The team will give a pamphlet to Hispanics that contains a clear, compelling, and complete brief description of who is Jesus and what is Gospel. We are aiming to have the descriptions of Jesus and the gospel on the back of the Bible.

  5. We will collect people’s contact information through a QR Code that families will scan and fill it out before the team departs. This QR code will provide a national contact on the Bible where Hispanics can take their next steps towards Jesus. Those who are interested in learning more about Jesus and the Gospel could call or text.

  6. Depending on where the Hispanic making the contact lives, this person is directed to a local church or group of trained believers who will do the following:

□        Create a safe group where Hispanics would ask any questions that they have about spiritual matters. Trained local believers will facilitate biblical answers to their questions without any pressure to convert or to make any commitment.

□        When any Hispanic is ready to begin following Jesus, the local church or group will start or place this person in a 3/3rd obedience-based discipleship group to learn how to be a disciple who makes other disciples and multiply groups of disciples.

□       In addition, those who begin to obey will be trained to reach the unreached Muslims in the USA. We want to offer them training opportunities like the Perspectives Course, Global Gate hands-on experience, be a fish or become fisherman, etc. These classes and training will give them a global view of God’s heart for the nations (especially Muslims) and awaken a heart for making disciples of the unreached nations.

What are we dreaming it could happen?

 ·      God might convert many Hispanics while the Bibles are being distributed and while the message is being shared.

·      God might convert many as they read the Bible alone.

·      God might convert many when they participate in the small question and answer groups.

·      God might make obedient disciples who multiply and make many more obedient disciples.

·      God might raise up a great army of workers to reach the nations here in the United States and to the ends of the earth.

·      Or maybe little will happen, but even if only 1% of the 60 million Hispanics respond to the invitation to be followers of Jesus (disciples), these would be more than 600,000 Hispanics won to the kingdom and more workers added to his harvest ("In truth, the harvest is great, but the workers are few. Pray, then, the Lord of the harvest, that he sends workers to his Harvest - Jesus in Luke 10: 2). Could Jesus use this means to answer His prayer?

·      We want to provoke a movement of disciples who make disciples throughout the entire USA. Maybe, just maybe, the next great Christian movement in the USA could come through the millions of Hispanics God sent here?

 Why should do this now?

 ·      The number of Hispanics will continue to rise especially now that the border has been opened. Every month, more than 200 thousand Hispanics are arriving. Hispanics have a high birth rate. The rate of the Hispanic population growth compared to the rate that we are currently reaching is remarkably high. At the level we are going, it will be exceedingly difficult to reach a good segment of Hispanics if a more bold-aggressive, cooperative, and unified approach is not employed.

·      The number of unreached ethnic groups arriving in the United States is exponentially growing. We see the cases as in Afghanistan, Syria, North Africa, etc. There are representatives from many unreached ethnic groups already living in the United States.

·      Muslims are aggressively reaching out to Hispanics with a global plan to reach the United States, send them to Latin America to plant mosques, and convert the Hispanic world to Muslims. The kingdom must fight back to bring Latino Muslims to become Latino followers of Jesus and turn around the current trends.

·      Covid-19 is accelerating historical events in an unprecedented way. We as churches have to ride the wave and accelerate our outreach to the unreached world.

·      Hispanics are pre-conditioned by their cultural background, family values, ethnicity, and experience to live cross-culturally to reach unreached ethnic groups

·      Jesus wants a unified church to carry his name and gospel to the ends of the world.

·      I believe that we are in the last stage to finish the task of the great commission of making disciples. Within the last three eras of missions, the need before was to go to the ends of the earth since the ethnic groups did not have access to the gospel. Now, the mission is not just to go on pioneer missions, but God is moving the ends of the earth to our doors, needing us to reach cross-culturally to those who are here as well.

Where are we going to start?

·      In the city of Louisville, KY.

·      There are more than 36,857 Hispanics in the metro city of Louisville (6% of the total population). Most Hispanics are Cubans, Mexicans, Venezuelans, and Puerto Ricans.

·      Breath of LIfe International is working with local Hispanic churches to mobilize the Christian community across the city of Louisville.

·      As churches are already getting trained, teams are already getting deployed to Louisville neighborhoods like Minor lane heights, Okolona, Newburgh, Waterson Park, West Buechel

As each team visits families, each team will share who is Jesus and the gospel with each family, and collect information for the local leaders to follow using a short contact form QRcode
